CONCENTRATION, FOCUS, ORGANIZATION
*******Everything is Waiting for You********
Your great mistake is to act the drama
as if you were alone. As if life
were a progressive and cunning crime
with no witness to the tiny hidden
transgressions. To feel abandoned is to deny
the intimacy of your surroundings. Surely,
even you, at times, have felt the grand array;
the swelling presence, and the chorus, crowding
out your solo voice.
You must note the way the soap dish enables you,
or the window latch grants you freedom.
Alertness is the hidden discipline of familiarity.
The stairs are your mentor of things
to come, the doors have always been there
to frighten you and invite you,
and the tiny speaker in the phone
is your dream-ladder to divinity.
Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into
the conversation. The kettle is singing
even as it pours you a drink, the cooking pots
have left their arrogant aloofness and
seen the good in you at last. All the birds
and creatures of the world are unutterably
themselves. Everything is waiting for you.
– David Whyte
“You can do it if you believe you can!”
Lesson 10 is all about Concentration, Focus, and Organization. Concentration is defined as “the act of focusing the mind on a given desire until ways and means for its realization have been worked out and successfully put into operation.” Two important laws enter into this principal: The Law of Autosuggestion and The Law of Habit. Out of repetition (doing the same thing the same way, over and over again) and consistently thinking the same (positive) thoughts, a habit grows and becomes automatic. Therefore, select your thoughts and habits with great care.
Note that bad habits can be turned into good ones. Habits are created by repetition, and the best way to break old bad habits is to replace them by forming new good ones. Form new mental paths, and the old ones will become weaker. Use enthusiasm to form a new habit, concentrate on it and travel the new path as often as possible. Also, resist the temptation to go down the old path. The first step in creating a good environment is to consider your Definite Chief Aim, and design your environment to best help you achieve it. This begins with your close associates-make sure they support your goals. It is a stunning but true fact that a simple change in environment can have a tremendous impact on success.
Concentration is the ability to keep your mind focused on one subject until you have mastered it. Also, the ability to control your attention, and solve any problem, the ability to throw off bad habits and attain self-mastery are also included in the definition of concentration. These abilities are helped by constantly keeping your Definite Chief Aim in mind.
An important part of this lesson is creating powerful and successful alliances. When two or more people ally themselves for the purpose of attaining a goal, their power is greatly increased. This is the power of organized effort. I want to emphasize the importance of the master mind – cooperation between like-minded individuals is a very rewarding and powerful tool for success.
Another subject relating to concentration is memory. A detailed formula to retain, recall and recognize information (using association), and using it effectively, is given in this lesson. It is possible for anyone to develop the ability to increase their memory, just as it is also possible for anyone to “tune in” and understand the thoughts of others through what he calls “the universal mind,” which is very similar to what psychologist Carl Jung called “the collective unconscious.”
LAW OF SUCCESS QUOTES
CONCENTRATION IS THE MAGIC KEY TO SUCCESS! This Magic Key constitutes an irresistible power for all who will use… It win unlock the door to riches! It will unlock the door to fame! And, in many instances, it will unlock the door to physical health. It will unlock the door to education and let you into the storehouse of all your latent ability. It will act as a pass-key to any position in life for which you are fitted.
Through the aid of this Magic Key we have unlocked the secret doors to all of the world’s great inventions. Through its magic powers all of our great geniuses of the past have been developed.
Concentration, in the sense in which it is here used, means the ability, through fixed habit and practice, to keep your mind on one subject until you have thoroughly familiarized yourself with that subject and mastered it. It means the ability to control your attention and focus it on a given problem until you have solved it.
It means the ability to throw off the effects of habits which you wish to discard, and the power to build new habits that are more to your liking. It means complete self-mastery.
Stating it in another way, concentration is the ability to think as you wish to think; the ability to control your thoughts and direct them to a definite end; and the ability to organize your knowledge into a plan of action that is sound and workable.
Two important laws enter into the act of concentrating the mind on a given desire: One is the law of Auto-suggestion and the other is the law of habit.
Habit is the basis of all memory training, a fact which you may easily demonstrate in remembering the name of a person whom you have just met, by repeating that name over and over until you have fixed it permanently and plainly in your mind.
Ambition and desire are the chief factors which enter into the act of successful concentration. Without these factors the Magic Key is useless, and the main reason why so few people make use of this key is that most people lack ambition, and desire nothing in particular.
When you become familiar with the powers of concentration you will then understand the reason for choosing a definite chief aim as the first step in the attainment of enduring success.
Concentrate your mind upon the attainment of the object of a deeply seated desire and very soon you will become a lode-stone that attracts, through the aid of forces which no man can explain, the necessary material counterparts of that desire, a statement of fact which paves the way for the description of a principle which constitutes the most important part of this lesson, if not, in fact, the most important part of the entire course, viz.:
When two or more people ally themselves, in a spirit of perfect harmony, for the purpose of attaining a definite end, if that alliance is faithfully observed by all of whom it is composed, the alliance brings, to each of those of whom it is composed, power that is superhuman and seemingly irresistible in nature.
When one concentrates one’s mind upon a given subject, facts of a nature that is closely related to that subject will “pour” in from every conceivable source. The theory is that a deeply seated desire, when once planted in the right sort of “mental soil,” serves as a center of attraction or magnet that attracts to it everything that harmonizes with the nature of the desire.
It IS possible to attune your mind and harmonize the rate of vibration of thought with the rate of vibration of the ether where ALL knowledge that has been accumulated through the organized thoughts of the past is made available to you.
We have seen what an important part environment and habit play in connection with the subject of concentration. We shall now discuss MEMORY.
The principles through which an accurate, unfaltering memory may be trained are few, and comparatively simple. These are the three principles that enter into the act of remembering:
1 Retention: The receiving of a sense impression through one or more of the five senses, and the recording of this impression, in orderly fashion, in the mind. This process may be likened to the recording of a picture on the sensitized plate of a camera or kodak.
2 Recall: The reviving or recalling into the conscious mind of those sense impressions which have been recorded in the sub-conscious mind. This process may be compared to the act of going through a card index and pulling out a card on which information had been previously recorded.
3 Recognition: The ability to recognize a sense impression when it is called into the conscious mind, and to identify it as being a duplicate of the original impression, and to associate it with the original source from which it came when it was first recorded.
This process enables us to distinguish between “memory” and “imagination.”
First: When you wish to be sure of your ability to recall a sense impression, such as a name, date or place, be sure to make the impression vivid by concentrating your attention upon it to the finest detail. An effective way to do this is to repeat, several times, that which you wish to remember. Just as a photographer must give an “exposure” proper time to record itself on the sensitized plate of the camera, so must we give the sub-conscious mind time to record properly and clearly any sense impression that we wish to be able to recall with readiness.
Second: Associate that which you wish to remember with some other object, name, place or date with which you are quite familiar, and which you can easily recall when you wish, as, for example, the name of your home town, your close friend, the date of yourbirth, etc., for your mind will then file away the sense impression that you wish to be able to recall, with the one that you can easily recall, so that when bringing forth one into the conscious mind it brings, also, the other one with it.
Third: Repeat that which you wish to remember, a number of times, at the same time concentrating your mind upon it, just as you would fix your mind on a certain hour at which you wished to arise in the morning, which, as you know, insures your awakening at that precise hour. The common failing of not being able to remember the names of other people, which most of us have, is due entirely to the fact that we do not properly record the name in the first place. When you are introduced to a person whose name you wish to be able to recall at will, repeat that name four or five times, first making sure that you understood the name correctly. If the name is similar to that of some person whom you know well, associate the two names together, thinking of both as you repeat the name of the one whose name you wish to be able to recall.
Your ability to train your memory, or to develop any desired habit, is a matter, solely, of being able to fix your attention on a given subject until the outline of that subject has been thoroughly impressed upon the “sensitized plate” of your mind.
Concentration, itself, is nothing but a matter of control of the attention!
Becoming a Power-full Co-Creator
We are moving from Source to Self to Becoming Power-full Genius Creator to Manifesting our greatest dreams and desires to Attracting Cooperative Components and Creating the Relationships you really want…
Take an honest look at where you are at in your primary relationships, and decide where you want to be, and how you want to move forward in them. Use the practices to help you!
“When you focus upon lack in an attitude of complaining, you establish a vibrational point of attraction that then gives you access only to more thoughts of complaint. Your deliberate effort to tell a new story will establish a new pattern of thought, providing you with a new point of attraction from your present, about your past, and into your future. The simple effort of looking for positive aspects will set a new vibrational tone that will begin the immediate attraction of thoughts, people, circumstances, and things that are pleasing to you.”
“If we had a child, or anyone, and we caught them doing something inappropriate, we would not amplify it with our words. We would identify what it is we do not want, and then out of it would come the rocket of desire of what we do want, and then we would just visualize, visualize, visualize, until we find peace within our vision. When you make someone and their action the heart of a vision that you’ve spent time on — your relationship improves, your experience is better, and they receive the benefit of the experience. But if you catch them, and see them, and worry about it, and put mechanisms in place to prevent it, now you have not only amplified it, you have now made a commitment that is hooking you both into that, until usually it gets big enough that you break apart, and then you attract others to fulfill that role.”
Emotions are indicators of your point of attraction
Emotions are indicators of your alignment with Source Energy
Use your emotions to feel your way back to Well-Being
The Three Steps to Whatever You Want to Be, Do or Have
Step 1: You Ask
Step 2: The Universe Answers
Step 3: You Allow It In
Every subject is really two subjects: wanted and not wanted
Your attention must be on it, not the lack of it
Now you hold the key to creating your every desire
You were born with sensitive, evolved, sophisticated translators of vibrations that help you understand and define your experience.
When you are in full alignment with Source Energy you thrive, and to the degree in which you do not allow this alignment, you do not thrive.
You create through molding energy, and you mold it through the power of your focus– by thinking, remembering, and imagining.
Everything– from your subtle or even unconscious desires to clear, precise, vivid ones– results from the contrasting experiences of your day-to-day life.
Desires (or asking) are the natural by-product of your exposure to this environment of fantastic variety and contrast.
Every point of Consciousness has the right and the ability to ask, and all points of Consciousness are honored and responded to immediately.
Your “asking” is most often emanating from you vibrationally as a constant stream of personally honored preferences, each building on the next, and each one respected and answered.
Every question is answered.
Every desire is given.
Every prayer is answered.
Every wish is granted.
The Art of Allowing– the practice whereby you tune the vibrational frequency of your Being to match the vibrational frequency of your desire (what you are asking for).
What you think and what you get are always a vibrational match, so it can be very helpful to make a conscious correlation between what you are thinking and what is manifesting in your life experience.
Energy Management: Time & Money
TIME AND MONEY MANAGEMENT
Believe in yourself. Have faith in your abilities. With self-confidence and certainty you can succeed. It’s important to practice a positive attitude on all subjects, especially time and money. Become a teacher of how to have a positive outlook towards life’s essential resources, which will determine your health and your future. Build strong relationships with these essential creative tools, infusing them with trust and reliability. Be willing to meet yourself at your starting point not where you think you should be, with non-judgement and acceptance!
This is the #1 excuse people make. Find out exactly how much money you have coming in and going out. Where is all that money going? Is it going towards your dreams? You have the ability to make money doing something you absolutely love. Use the prosperity process to increase your spending flexibility and imagination.
Notice if what you are doing is bringing you closer to your dream, deterring you, or is completely neutral? It’s time to take a look at your time and how you are spending it.
“There’s not enough time in the day”…. There are 168 hours in the week. If you are at work 45 hours, commute 5 hours, sleep 56 hours, doing household chores and running errands 10 hours, 14 hours with family including eating that still leaves 38 hours per week (even more if your commute is shorter). What are you doing with the rest of your time?
Complete the worksheet on time management, keep track of your time for an entire week see where your time goes and what you can change. It would also be good for you to do an expense report and see how and where you spend your money. With clarity come power.

Focus, Awareness, and Attention
Now we know… The sub-conscious mind is imprinted with mental concepts through Auto-suggestion and Creative thinking. The ideas are put into motion, in the world, through the coordination with Infinite Intelligence which is orchestrating all people, places, and things that are aligned with our thinking.
Whether we are creating positively or negatively with our thoughts is up to us, and the world will reflect the sub-conscious imprinting. This is exciting news! We have the ability to direct our thoughts, and we have the ability to practice ourselves into desired manifestations with the use of creative thinking, imagination, visualization, meditation, and auto-suggestion. Now, pure positive concentration is the key to creating!
YOUR MAGIC KEY
Now, let us put the Magic Key to a test, through the aid of a definite formula.
“First, you must put your foot on the neck of skepticism and doubt!” ~Napoleon Hill
No unbeliever ever enjoyed the benefits of this Magic Key. You must believe in the test that you are about to make.
We will assume that you have thought something about becoming a successful writer, or a powerful public speaker, or a successful business executive, or an able financier, etc.
We will take your subject, ______________ (put your dream purpose here), as the subject of this test, but remember that you must follow instructions to the letter.
Take a plain sheet of paper, ordinary letter size, and write on it the following:
I am going to become a powerful _____________ because this will enable me to render the world useful service that is needed – and because it will yield me a financial return that will provide me with the necessary material things of life.
I will concentrate my mind upon this desire for ten minutes daily, just before retiring at night and just after arising in the morning, for the purpose of determining just how I shall proceed to transform it into reality.
I know that I can become a powerful and magnetic __________, therefore I will permit nothing to interfere with my doing so.
Sign this pledge, then proceed to do as you have pledged your word that you would do. Keep it up until the desired results have been realized.
Now, when you come to do your concentrating, this is the way to go about it:
Look ahead one, three, five or even ten years, and see yourself as the most powerful _____________ of your time.
See, in your imagination, an appropriate income. S ee yourself in your own home that you have purchased with the proceeds from your efforts as a ___________.
See yourself in possession of a nice bank account as a reserve for old age. See yourself as a person of influence, due to your great ability as a ____________.
See yourself engaged in a life-calling in which you are confident and secure in your position.
Paint this picture clearly, through the powers of your imagination, and voila!- it will soon become transformed into a beautiful picture of deeply seated desire. Use this desire as the chief object of your concentration and observe what happens.
You now have the secret of the Magic Key!
Use this Magic Key with intelligence, and only for the attainment of worthy ends, and it will bring you enduring happiness and success. Forget the mistakes you have made and the failures you have experienced. Quit living in the past, for do you not know that your yesterdays never return? Start all over again, if your previous efforts have not turned out well, then make the next five or ten years tell a story of success that will satisfy your most lofty ambitions.
Make a name for yourself and render the world a great service, through ambition, desire and concentrated effort!
Remember, you can do it if you BELIEVE you can!
You are a powerful creator! So ask yourself, in every moment, am I creating positively or negatively with my focus? Because, either way, you are always creating.
Concentration is the act of focusing the mind upon a given desire until ways and means for its realization have been worked out and successfully put into operation.
The power to think as you wish is the only power over which you have absolute control.
Thoughts are things! This is a great truth which, when you understand it, will bring you as close to the door of that secret passage-way to knowledge, previously mentioned, as is possible for another person to bring you. When you grasp this fundamental truth you will soon find that door and open it.
Nothing was ever created by a human being which was not first created in the imagination, through desire, and then transformed into reality through concentration.
The presence of any idea or thought in your consciousness tends to produce an “associated” feeling and to urge you to an appropriate or corresponding action. Hold a deeply seated desire in your consciousness, through the principle of concentration, and if you do it with full faith in its realization your act attracts to your aid powers which the entire scientific world has failed to understand or explain with a reasonable hypothesis.
So important is this subject of control of attention that I feel impelled to emphasize it in such a way that you will not pass it by lightly. I have reserved reference to this important subject until the last, as a climax to this lesson, for the reason that I consider it, by far, the most important part of the lesson.
It is possible, through the aid of concentrated attention, for one to attune one’s mind to the vibration of the ether that all the secrets in the world of unfathomed and uncharted mental phenomena may become as open books which may be read at will. One may “tune in” on the universal mind in which all knowledge is stored!
Experiment with your definite chief aim in life:
Memorize your definite chief aim so you can repeat it without looking at the written page, then make a practice of fixing your attention on it at least twice a day, proceeding as follows:
Go into some quiet place where you will not be disturbed; sit down and completely relax your mind and your body; then close your eyes and place your fingers in your ears, thereby excluding the ordinary sound waves and all of the light waves. In that position repeat your definite chief aim in life, and as you do so see yourself, in your imagination, in full possession of the object of that aim. If a part of your aim is the accumulation of money, as it undoubtedly is, then see yourself in possession of that money. If a part of the object of your definite aim is the ownership of a home, then see a picture of that home, in your imagination, just as you expect to see it in reality. If a part of your definite aim is to become a powerful and influential public speaker, then see yourself before an enormous audience, and feel yourself playing upon the emotions of that audience as a great violinist would play upon the strings of the violin.
Begin, now, to cultivate the ability to fix your attention, at will, on a given subject, with a feeling that this ability, when fully developed, would bring you the object of your definite chief aim in life… and see what happens!
You must purely give your attention to the desire itself, instead of focusing back on the contrasting experience that gave birth to the desire.
As long as you are aware of what you do not want regarding any subject, what you do want cannot come to you.
It does not matter where you vibrationally stand in relationship to anything you desire. By paying attention to the way you FEEL, and by directing your thought to better-feeling thoughts, you can again achieve vibrational harmony with the Well-Being that is natural to you.
As extensions of pure, positive Non-Physical Energy, the more in vibrational harmony you are with You, the better you feel.
It is not possible for you to consistently feel positive emotion about something and have it turn out badly, just as it is not possible for you to consistently feel bad about something and have it turn out well– for the way you feel will tell you if you are allowing your natural Well-Being or not.
Your emotions are your consistent indicators of your degree of allowing or resisting your connection to Source Energy.
I am offering one of the best guided meditations as a conclusion to the lesson on Time and Energy Management. I hope it serves you well in opening the heart and allowing great abundance into your life, in all ways.
